This year, Alison.ai partnered with Meta’s Creative Shop and Marketing Science teams to deconstruct what actually drives performance in the vertical, from sound design to video duration.

As a key partner in this research, we utilized Alison’s AI to break down ads frame-by-frame, cross-referencing visual and audio elements with performance data to separate assumption from reality.

Some highlights from our findings:

  • Sound Strategy: While 70% of ads use female voiceovers, male voiceovers currently drive a stronger positive impact on performance.
  • Duration Surprise: Contrary to short-form trends, videos of 60 seconds or longer are outperforming shorter assets in this vertical.
  • Messaging Wins: Micro-commitments like “Seven minutes a day” generate a 73% above-average impact on ROAS compared to monthly challenges.
  • Visual Settings: “Domestic outdoor” settings (like rooftops and porches) significantly outperform gym or living room backgrounds.
